Energy Saving Tips
Look After Your Boiler
The current lifespan of a boiler is around 10 years, after which it will begin to lose efficiency, wasting both your gas and cash. When replacing your boiler ensure you opt for an “A” rated one displaying the Energy Saving Recommended logo. Choosing a heating system with a condensing boiler and heating controls could make a huge difference over time.
Solar Energy: Solar Hot Water
How do solar water heating systems work?
Solar water heating systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to warm water which is stored in a hot water cylinder.
There are two types of solar water heating panels; they are evacuated tubes and flat plate collectors. Flat plate’s collectors can be fixed on the roof tiles or integrated into the roof.
